EUS COMMUNITY CONTRIBUTION AWARD

The EUS Community Contribution award recognizes students who have exhibited outstanding leadership and initiative to help their fellow students within the UBC Engineering community. If you helped foster growth at UBC Engineering through initiative, innovation and active involvement, this award is for you! Applications close Saturday, February 24th, at 11:59 pm PST.

Eligibility:

  • You must be a full time student or on a co-op term, and be an active member of the UBC Vancouver Engineering Undergraduate society.

    • You are a full time student if you are enrolled in at least 60% of your full course load.

    • You are an active member if you have paid your EUS Student Fees.

  • You must be in Good Standing with the University. This means you must have at minimum a 55% cumulative average.

  • You cannot sit on the EUS Scholarships Committee

  • You cannot be on the EUS Board of Directors

  • If you received this award in past years, you cannot apply to the same category.

Award Types: Please ensure you apply to the appropriate award category, described as follows.

Junior Awards (2): Valued at $500, these awards are for students who have completed 2-5 academic terms in pursuit of their B.A.Sc.

Senior Awards (2): Valued at $1000, these awards are for students who have completed over 5 academic terms in pursuit of their B.A.Sc.

Professional Activities Fund (PAF)

PAF helps fund activities that enhance the educational or professional development of UBC Engineers.

EUS Rec Sports Subsidies  are offered on all rec intramural sports and events. For more information, check out the Sports page.

EUS Ex-Officio Club Event Funding

The EUS provides funds to recognized Ex-Officio clubs hosting academic, social, and industry + PD events. To access this funding, download the form linked below and email it to the Funds & Grants Administrator at funds@ubcengineers.ca.

The EUS provides funds to department clubs hosting academic, social, and industry + PD events. To access this funding, download the form linked below and email it to the Funds & Grants Administrator at funds@ubcengineers.ca.

DESIGN TEAM ENGAGEMENT AWARDS

The 3 annual EUS Design Team Engagement Awards are given to design teams and the members who have gone above and beyond to show leadership, encourage learning and development in other team members, and have been outstanding members of the UBC Design Team community.

Applications will close on March 21, 2022, at 11:59 pm.

GE Ted Baynes Student Award

Two GE Ted Baynes Student Award of $4,200 have been endowed by G. E. Baynes, B.A.Sc.'32. The awards are made to undergraduate students in Engineering who are Canadian citizens and who have demonstrated strong qualities of leadership, combined with active participation in sports. In selecting the candidate, consideration will also be given to academic standing and financial need. The award is made by the Faculty of Applied Science in consultation with the Engineering Undergraduate Society.

EUS CENTENNIUM INDIVIDUAL AWARDS

The EUS Centennium Individual Awards are to recognize individuals who have contributed to their community through volunteering, professional experiences, entrepreneurship, technical experience, and/or leadership.

There are 14 awards available, each worth $750. Nominees of this award have gone above and beyond what was expected of them in their involvement. The Award is open now, and closes at 11:59:59 pm on November 29th, 2019.
