EUS Endorses Kevin Heieis for AMS VP Admin

The EUS is proud to endorse Kevin for AMS VP Admin. He has been dedicated to improving the Engineering community for over 5 years and can be found at almost every engineering event volunteering or fostering engagement.

As a long time member of a design team and 2021-2023 Thunderbikes captain, Kevin gained a deep understanding of the Professional Activities Fund, or PAF, something deeply familiar to all members of design teams. Kevin took it upon himself to fix PAF, spending hundreds of hours meticulously working with the EUS, APSC, and design teams to optimize the process. Through his leadership, Kevin has accomplished a near 40% increase in Professional Activity Fund request approvals by overhauling the application process and supported growth of design teams. The EUS created the role of “Design Team Advocacy Manager” to acknowledge the hard work Kevin has been doing for years. Kevin has overseen and ensured the distribution of ~1 million dollars of project funding to students and fundamentally restructured PAF.

Kevin has also fostered a vibrant and bright community in Integrated Engineering, working diligently as President to advocate for and support students in IGEN. Kevin has also been a strong proponent of inter-department collaboration and is an essential part of the broader engineering community and spirit through his support of fellow department presidents.

As VP Administration Kevin would be able to take ownership of club issues by restoring effective communication with campus communities, get more campus groups (including design teams!) involved with clubs day, and continue fostering student centered engagement across all of campus. We’ve seen Kevin tackle seemingly impossible projects and get results, and we know he has the genuine passion and intense work ethic to deliver. When Kevin promises to be on call to every club, we know that isn’t just a saying - he will. When Kevin does something, he surpasses every expectation and won’t be satisfied with mediocrity.

Vote for Kevin and vote for an Admin portfolio that will never stop working to support students and clubs. Check out more of his portfolio at votekev.ca. Voting opens March 1st.
