In order to foster growth, leadership, initiative, and innovation in the engineering community, the EUS feels it is important for the community to acknowledge and give back to those individuals who go above and beyond expectations and positively impact UBC engineering. As such, every year the EUS will give back $3000 in scholarships to engineering undergraduate students! The $3000 is divided into four awards: two will be junior awards ($500 value each) for students entering second or third year. The other two will be senior awards ($1000 each) for students with fourth-year or above standing in September.
Applications are due electronically to vpacademic@ubcengineers.ca at the end of every May. The second batch of scholarships will be given out in September 2010. Click here to download the 2010 EUS Scholarship Application Form.
The criteria are demonstrated leadership, innovation, personal initiative, and service to the UBC engineering community. Grades are not a criteria, however applicants must be full-time students in good standing with the university at the time of the award disbursal. Recipients are selected by the EUS Scholarship Selection Committee, which consists of an Engineering Student Development Officer, the APSC Student Senator, the EUS Vice President Academic, and a member-at-large of the EUS Board of Directors.
Congratulations to the 2009 scholarship winners, Tagg Jefferson, Winnie Lai, and Ariel Winkelmeyer.
