Your Engineering Undergraduate Society strives to provide you, our members and associated organizations, with valuable services that will better your engineering student experience.  This section of the website is dedicated to providing you information on what exactly we offer and how you can take advantage of our services.

Overview of Sub-sections

+ Academic Advocacy

One student may not be able to change a program’s curriculum or the way that co-op runs, but together we are able to push for these changes.  The EUS VP Academic, APSC Senator, and crew gather feedback and advocate for students (individually and collectively) to the faculty and university. + Funding

The EUS funds each departmental club and is also partially responsible for managing a variety of funds that individual students or groups can apply to including the Endowment Fund, PAF, and the Walter Gage Fund.  We also offer a scholarship and subsidy for sports registration fees.   For other information on finances see the Frequently Asked Questions page. Go to sub-section!

+ Merchandise

The EUS offers a variety of engineering merchandise at our store, Red Sales, from the traditional red jackets to t-shirts and pins.  We often hold design contests.  Keep your eyes open for an e-store (coming soon)! Go to sub-section!

+ Publications

Our major new initiative is the e-nEUS, an email newsletter that replaces faculty-wide broadcast emails with a single weekly bulletin combining all faculty, EUS, and other student group bulletins.  The EUS also publishes a yearbook and provides students with a free agenda with lots of useful information.  Finally and perhaps obviously, this website is a major publication of the EUS, full of useful resources for you to explore, from lists of frequently asked questions to information on relevant external scholarships. Go to sub-section!

+ Student Space

The EUS was the first undergraduate society on campus to operate its own independent student space, the Cheeze.  Today it is open social space with a computer lab, kitchen area, pool table, arcade games, $1 pop, and brand new frozen food vending machines.  You can also book the Cheeze for use after-hours. + Tutoring

Engineering Tutoring is an engineering specific and easily accessible tutoring program provided by your EUS in conjunction with the Applied Science Dean’s Office and AMS Tutoring.  We provide sessions for major first-year courses as well as some common second-year courses. Go to sub-section!

Other Services

+ Liaison & Representation

The EUS is your official representation to the faculty, university, AMS, the Canadian Federation of Engineering Students, and the list goes on.  If you have any concerns or suggestions about your student experience, it is our responsibility to make sure they are brought to the attention of the broader community, so make sure we hear your voice!

+ Information

Our Executives, Councillors, CMs, and Ex-Officios together are a valuable source of information on nearly any topic related to UBC and life at UBC. Everything from planning events to financial resources for new design teams and even suggestions on how to deal with academic hardships…we can help. If you don’t find your answers on our website or FAQ section please don’t hesitate to ask us.

+ Events

From E-Week to orientations, industry mixers to trivia contests, the EUS offers a wide variety of events to meet your social, academic, and professional needs.  Please see our events main page and calendar of events for more information.

+ Opportunities for Involvement

From directly volunteering with the EUS to joining our own engineering peer program or being a sponsored delegate to engineering conferences and competitions, the opportunities for getting involved in your engineering student experience are numerous.  Please see the opportunities main page for more information or come out to our fun weekly meetings to find out more.
