President
Nik Agarwal

Hello, I am running for the pp council president. I like to PARTY. If I win the elections, I promise you guys a very memorable first year experience. I can guarantee that you guys will have the best first year experience of all the faculties EVER had in the history of UBC. I have extensive leadership experience skills and full of creative ideas. I am willing to listen and organize your ideas, after all I am working for you guys. The change is in your hand. And remember my victory=fun2
Ming Hung Lee
Hi! My name is Ming Lee and I want to be your PP Council president.
For the past few years I have participated in leadership events and were pleased with the results.
These events vary from sports to recreational activities to academics, so that means I will support whatever you do!
I have worked well alone and in groups, and together with the rest of the executives, we’ll make magic happen.
With that in mind I want to make this first step in University the best of your life.
I’m here to kick off university with excitement, and have this year one you’ll never forget, so vote MING FOR PRES.
Wilson To
SUP DAWGS! Wilson To here, and I’m running to be your PP Council President! I don’t know about you, but I’ve only been here for 2 weeks, and I absolutely LOVE it at UBC. If there was one word I would use to describe UBC Engineering, it would be… LEGENDARY. True story. Because I love UBC Engineering so much, I am VERY eager to commit my time and run the PP Council on behalf of all you guys. According to Rebecca Black, fun only happens only Fridays, but for me, I feel like every day at UBC is like we’re partyin’ partyin’ yeah! And if I am elected, leave it up to WILSON to make your first year as AWESOME as can be!
Ron Gordetsky
True leaders are those elected not only for the skills, experience and promises they bring to the table, but more so for their ability to make good on their word and convince those who elect them that they ARE truly in good hands. As formal Warrant Officer in the cadet organization, leadership instructor, Graduation Ceremony events coordinator and pilot, I am more than confident that I can truly make this first year the most memorable and the best it could be. From having contacts in over thirty event production companies in the GVR, to being a true gentleman and a Pledge of Sigma Chi, I believe that I CAN be the person who will make this the best first year it could possibly be. Now the rest is up to you. On September 30th come out and vote RON GORODETSKY for President of First Year Council and let me gain your confidence.Vice President
Ellie Crux
Hey There! My name is Ellinor Crux. Many of you know me as Ellie, and I really want to be your PP council Vice President this year! I picked the position of Vice president because it lets me do what I think I’m best at: mediating between different groups and making sure things stay realistic, safe and still be fun! As Vice President I want to promote the history and traditions of the EUS and make sure that events are diverse and well run so that everyone is included. Just remember: Don’t be smelly, vote for Ellie!
Tyler Dickens
I am running for VP of the PP council so I can make this community a little better (if that’s possible). As to why you should vote for me? I’m not going to give you a big, convoluted list of reasons why to vote for me. I could easily do so. But what I’m more interested in doing is getting right down to the issues and events that need to be addressed for PP’s. Want more socials? I can do that. Want more fun? I can do that. I’m looking to get things done and make this a spectacular year for everyone. Remember: I want a great year too.
Brodie Barker
I first became interested in joining the Engineering Undergraduate Society first year council after
I attended frosh retreat in early September. I was lucky enough to be asked two days before the trip to
attend and I had a blast! I got to meet so many amazing people that weekend, it made me interested in
joining the engineering community. I understand what it means to be an engineer and the fun we
experience together. This made getting involved an easy decision. I would love to play an important
role in this year’s PP council so I can plan some fantastic events for the first years.
Social Coordinator
Shara Viaje
How full is half a glass of water?
But before you answer, let me introduce myself.
I’m SHARA VIAJE running for the position of SOCIAL COORDINATOR for this year’s PP Council. First, I have initiated several school and community events back in my local city in North Delta, BC. As a former Student Council President, I managed several tasks in order to make a certain event successful, and now, I want to continue my passion in service to EUS. And second, I will (try) to demolish 40 beers! Now back to my question, as an aspiring engineer, that glass is not half full or half empty; that glass was twice as big as it needs to be. Again, SHARA VIAJE for SOCIAL COORDINATOR!
Robin Yoon
Hello! My name is Robin Yoon and I am looking to make your frosh year the best year possible, as your very social Social Coordinator. My life motto is “Work hard, Play Harder,” because I know it is possible, and super necessary, to have a wicked social life without sacrificing academic success. My vision for the upcoming year is one which brings fun into all froshees’ lives that will allow us to survive through the many sleepless nights to come. As your SoCo, I will share my overflowing spirit and energy, as well as three years of experience in event organizing, with you engineers. VOTE ROBIN YOON for a year of mixing and mingling!
Stephen Riggs
Emilie Russell
Hey guys! I’m Emilie, and I’m running for your First Year Council SoCo! So why me? After being the head of my drama department in high school, I’ve developed a bunch of skills like organization, creativity, event-planning, and good old fun-lovingness that I will harness in order to make this year the best year for all us future engineers. I’ll make sure that you all have tons of chances to come out to super cool events that will make the other faculties even more jealous of us than they already are. And, of course, I will always listen to your event ideas, and do everything I can to make them happen.Secretary

Treasurer
Lisa Lee
Can we or can we not demolish 40 beers? I guess it’s time to find out!!
We all agree that this year is meant to be filled with events, food, drinks, friends and memories that will last for a long time! As the treasurer, I promise to keep track of
YOUR money, listen to where YOU want to spend it and, of course, bring to the table a plethora of experience in organizing exciting, large events that will be written in history books.
Who is this Lisa Lee girl? A wannabe PP Council member with a dream! From a small town in rural Alberta, she spent a year as an exchange student in Switzerland, backpacked through Europe, and tasted all kinds of different beers from around the world! In addition, she was the volunteer coordinator at a local hospital and formed a Youth Volunteer Group in her community.
“Hello ladies and gents, my name is Lisa Lee and I am up for the challenge of making the “UBC Engineering class of 2015” the best and most enjoyable first year! BIG IDEAS NEED BIG VOTES, I’m ready, are you?!!
Mark McLellan
Hi! My name’s Mark McLellan, and I want to be your treasurer on your First Year PP Council. As treasurer, I would keep track of all the funds coming in and out of PP council, as well as make sure that it is being used efficiently and responsibly. With a budget of only $500, it’s important that we put this money to the best use we can. A crucial part of being treasurer is making sure that money isn’t being wasted! If I am elected to office, I will be sure to organize fundraising events to add to our budget. Vote Mark McLellan for Treasurer!
Nicholas Holmberg
Don’t you worry about blank, let me worry about blank. Hi I’m Nick and I’m running for the position of Treasurer on the PP Council. The Treasurer’s job basically deals with the finances of the council so I will not only make sure there is enough money for events, but that the money is spent wisely and efficiently. I would be spot on for this position as I have taken business and accounting classes before and have good management skills. With this position I will be open to suggestions because I’m running to make this a better year all first years, not just myself.
Vote Nick because I’m really good with money, just ask my Ferrari.
Publicity Rep
Billy Li
Riza Kazemi
“Hey people of the coolest faculty on campus!
We engineers work a lot and we deserve to have some fun more than anyone! So it’d be really unfortunate to miss an awesome event just because you didn’t know! Well, don’t worry… I can design great posters, take awesome pictures of awesome us people and I am everywhere : on facebook, on twitter ,on linkedin and so on! Basically once I work, there is no way you miss an event. Finally, if this hasn’t convinced you to vote for Riza Kazemi, IDK what you want! Just joking.. Enjoy your first year and don’t forget to have some fun.”
Owen Liu
…Connecting Engineering… Don’t you just hate it when you hear about awesome events, only after they are over? Hey fellow PPs! I’m Owen, as your future Publicity representative I will inform you of this year’s FUNtastic EUS events, crazy engineering parties and opportunities that are vital to your success at school. I have the experience, passion and dedication for Pub Rep. I will personally ensure that no first-year engineering student will be left without information to awesome events of this year. If elected I will be your source to everything engineering, vote Owen for a memorable and awesome year!
Academic Rep
Li Ming Xiang
Li Ming Xiang at your service!
Since this is YOUR PP council, shouldn’t you be represented by the best engineers? So why not start with me?
Between the parties you won’t *cough* be attending and the beer you won’t *cough* be drinking, someone has to help you with your courses. As academic rep, it will be my job to help you with your course related problems. If there are problems that I can’t answer, I’ll search every corner of campus for solutions…except the girl’s washrooms.
So why not? Take a chance on me.
Vote Li Ming Xiang for Academic Rep!
Sports and Charity
Elizabeth Wicks and Hillary Wong
ATTENTION ALL PPs: WHO’S DOWN FOR SOME ENGINEERING VS SCIENCE ULTIMATE? HOW ABOUT SKATING AT UBC REC’S “LACE UP FOR KIDS” AS A PP ENGINEERING TEAM TO RAISE MONEY FOR CHILDREN’S CHARITY? WHO’S READY FOR AN EPIC FIRST YEAR?
If you answered yes to any of the above questions, then voting Hilary and Elizabeth for Sports and Charity Coordinator is the way to go! Elizabeth’s previous experience as Student Council President combined with Hilary’s involvement with Free the Children’s Schools in Action program is a recipe for success! We’re super stoked to meet all of you, and to make your year a blast! Remember to vote EHW^2!
Projects Operations Officer
Charlie Zhang
Hi there! My name’s Charlie Zhang, and I am running for Project Organization Officer. A POO is said to be the keeper of tradition and in charge of the fun side of PP council. I am here to say that I’m definitely up for the job, but I am also ready to do more. A POO should not only make sure that we are having the best time of our lives, but also give us the opportunities to learn more about the world engineering. To do this I need your support. If I am elected, I will fully commit all my time and effort to make our first year the best ever!
Meek Rahman and Colin Shi
We’re just two simple guys who enjoy playing video games, watching TV, and
long walks on the beach (not with each other). We both love taking
leadership, having fun, and most importantly, messing around (not with
each other). We just want to get involved to represent you all with pride, passion, and voice (with each other). Not only do we want to make memories, we want to throw in a gratuitous amount of fun. A vote for Meek and Colin is a vote for dedication, experience and more fun than your body has room for.
