SunDuring this day, two days before Frosh week starts, you will most likely sit and ponder how amazingly awesome Frosh week will be and may begin having symptoms of "frosh anxiety." If you begin feeling any of the symptoms listed below, attempting to enter in to a two day coma is NOT recommended.

FROSH ANXIETY

Emotional effects may include feelings of apprehension and excitment, trouble concentrating, feeling tense or jumpy, anticipating frosh week, irritability, restlessness, watching (and waiting) for signs (and occurrences) of frosh week and feeling like your mind's gone blank, as well as obsessions about sensations related to frosh week, deja vu, a trapped in your mind feeling, and feeling like everything non-frosh related is mundane.

Cognitive effects of frosh anxiety may include thoughts about suspected frosh activities, such as fear of tanking. You may fear that the stomach pains [a physical symptom of frosh anxiety] are from alcohol poisoning or that the shooting pains in your head [another physical symptom of frosh anxiety] are the result of a hangover. You feel an intense fear when you think of missing frosh week, or you may think of it more often than normal, or can’t get it out of your mind.

Behavioral effects may include withdrawal from situations where unpleasant effects of frosh anxiety have been experienced in the past. It can also be affected in ways which include changes in sleeping patterns, nail biting and increased motor tension, such as foot tapping.

MonAt this point you may start wondering why frosh week is two weeks long even though the title suggests it is only one week, but the fact is that frosh week was just too awesome to be contained in a single week so it now spans two!

Events of the day:

Meet the Profs BBQ (12:01pm - 1pm, The Cheeze) - A handful of your Profs and Dept Heads want to meet you First Year Engineering Student! Come to the Cheeze BBQ and say hello and get to know them. Burgers $1 for First Years. $2.50 for others.

Chariot Races (4pm - 6pm, Main Mall) - Chariots and chariot racing has a long and sometimes infamous history for the UBC Engineers. Come try a new take on the classic. One team at a time will push the chariot around a large loop. Best time wins prizes and a patch!
TuesMore competitions! Prove to your fellow engineers that you can design things better than them and then rub it in their faces with your cool prize that they're totally jealous of.

Events of the day:

tEUSday Meeting and Charity BBQ (12:01pm - 1pm, The Cheeze) - Come see the informal side of your EUS Council at these fun, informational meetings. EUS Council members will be providing updates on what they're up to, and a bbq will be going on as well. WedIt's time for a hEUStory lesson! Gather around and learn of the engineering champions of the past! But remember, do as we say not as they did.

Events of the day:

Representatives vary in different points of their career paths and will come from head office as well as the field. The rest of the time representatives will have lunch with students and rotate around to different tables.

Cheeze-y Movies (3:30pm - 8pm, The Cheeze) - The projector will be set up in the Cheeze to show a doubleheader of cinematic mastery. The films haven't been selected, but they are sure to provide much hilarity. Free Popcorn provided and $1 pop as always at the Cheeze.
