Beef and Pizza

You bring the beef, we’ll bring the pizza.  Come out and make sure your concerns are heard.

Engineering Beef and Pizzas are held once each term, and are a forum for students’ concerns to be heard.  The concerns are then compiled and brought up at the Student Advisory Council meeting, which is attended by all of the assistant deans, department heads, departmental club presidents (Civil, Mech, Mining, etc.), the EUS President, the EUS VP Academic and members of the VP Academic’s team.

For the 2009/2010 academic year, the fall Beef and Pizza will be held on November 26th in Kaiser 2020/2030 from 12:30 to 2 pm. We hope to see you there!

There are hundreds of dollars in prizes, and not just for winning the overall contest.  Funniest response, most spirit, bonus round prizes, and much much more also receive fabulous awards! So bring your friends and your thinking caps, and be prepared for an epic battle of wits!

This event began in March 2009, with teams coming from all over (the far away land of Waterloo!), not just UBC Engineering.  Team Genius Bowel won the fabulous trophy.  See this link for pictures from the first ever Genius Bowl.

Genius Bowl 2010 is going to be an event you won’t want to miss. Practice your buzzer skills now or you may regret it when they’re needed the most!

Stay tuned for more information on the 2nd Annual Genius Bowl (March 2010)!!

PP Clubroom Crawl
Calling all PPs to come out  and have some fun visiting all the department clubrooms (because this is surely what your program choice is based upon!! :P )

The PP clubroom crawl is a fun, informal event that enables first years to learn about the different departmental clubs, which helps them to make their second year program choice at the end of first year. Students are organized into groups and led on a tour around the clubrooms where each departmental club has fun activities and program information set up.

This event happens in the middle of second term, so stay tuned for details. Date and time will be confirmed closer to the date of the event, so check back here or look around engineering for some awesome advertising. We hope to see all you first years out!
