The UBC Engineering Competition is now accepting application forms! Basically the qualification round to get into the Western Engineering Competition, we will be holding all 6 WEC events at UBC within the coming weeks! For details on each event, and how to apply, click here.

Day of the longboat; a 2 day festival situated at the Jericho Sailing Centre, in which over 270 teams participated in a 2 km canoe race of epic proportions. A competition hosted by UBC REC, mechanical engineering team RowBots came in 1st in the divisional and second campus wide. (more…)

Come out to the Thunderbird Robotics open house to check out the Snowbots’ robot racers, TREAD’s moon excavators and the Thunderbots’ soccer playing robots. There will be demos, team members and FREE FOOD!

The Engineering Thunderbots team is back from Graz, Austria after competing in the 2009 Robocup Competition. The world-renowned event attracted thousands of participants from over 40 different countries, as well as lots of talent. The goal? To compete in the small sized league, where they had autonomous robots (pictured above) playing soccer against robots created by other schools! (more…)
