The PP (first year) Council is the student government of first year engineers, with the PP Council President sitting on the EUS Board of Directors. The PP council is given a budget, some advice and guidance from the EUS President, and access to tons of support, and then they are let loose! From paintballing to poker parties, any event that the council comes up with and is willing to organize can be done. The council also sees to the Academic and Professional concerns of first years. Being part of council is a great way to get involved without a ton of time committed, meet a large number of first years, and develop your leadership skills.

Nomination forms are currently being accepted for the 2010/2011 PP Council; for more details, click here.  For a full list of all positions, click here.

Voting day is scheduled for the 24th of September!

Imagine day has arrived!  And with it, the beginning of the best Frosh week UBC has to offer, Engineering Frosh 2010!  Jam-packed with events of all kinds, first years are encouraged to come check out all of our events, with upper years welcome as well.

And of course, with a start of a new year, we also go through another year of jealous students from other faculties besmirching our cairn.

This year however, those unfortunate students will have far more surface to cover.  Students at large have modified the cairn, however the change is rather less noticeable until you get close up;  the Cairn has grown in size by about 2 feet.

Significantly wider, taller, and bigger than it was before,  the EUS is currently looking for first years to become Keepers of the Cairn to help keep the grandeur of this Cairn intact.

Students interested in becoming keepers of the Cairn are encouraged to contact the VP Events at vpevents@ubcengineers.ca.

clubroomcrawl_logo_low Come tour all of the engineering clubrooms to help with your decision of which department to choose!

Each departmental club will have fun activities and/or presentations that showcase what’s special about that program. First years get the opportunity to ask questions of senior students who have been through everything before.

The first tour leaves at 3:30 pm sharp and the last tour leaves at around 4:00 pm.

Meet at the Cheeze and split up into groups, after which a tour guide will lead your group around for some good times. Hope to see you all there!
