Heavy course loads, academic and personal stress are common to all students, but you can take a break and visit the Engineer Your Health Wellness Expo on March 8 & 9. Held in the Kaiser Atrium from 11 am to 2 pm  on both days, you can speak with health professionals, learn some health skills in areas such as posture, nutrition, and stress management, and find out about health services on campus.

Stop by for the free snacks, massages, and other health assessments and enter to win the grand prize of a health and wellness makeover worth $500. Secondary prizes include MEC gift certificate and many other giveaways!

Are you interested in hearing from upper year students about their department? Want to go on a fun, informative tour of all the Engineering clubrooms? Sign-up today for the First Year Clubroom Crawl, happening Friday, March 11th from 4pm to 7pm. Many previous students have attributed this tour to helping them decide which program to enter in their second year. Prizes will be given out as well!

The EUS is now accepting nomination forms for the following 2010-2011 Executive positions:  VP Communications & Administration; VP Finance; VP Academic; VP External; VP Events; and President. The positions of AMS Representative(s) and Applied Science Student Senator are also available.

You can also submit an application to be a part of the Elections Committee, where three students at large are tasked with ensuring a fair and well run elections.  For details on the position as well as how to apply, please download the EUS 2011 Elections Committee Application Form.

Emblem Awards are awarded for service beyond that called for by the office held by the recipient, and shall take into consideration their record of service for the entire time that they have been a member of the Society.

The recipient shall be in their graduating year.

Nomination forms are available here and are due Feb 2, 2011 and recipients will be announced during the 92nd Annual Engineers Ball Feb. 5.

Happy to be back, or need an excuse to drown your sorrows away? Join us as the Engineers storm the Pit Pub this Friday, January 7th!

Its that time of year again!  Time for the Engineer’s to show all of campus what true christmas spirit is all about!  Armed with a large list of different Christmas Carols and songs, lead by Santa, Mrs. Claus, and the incredible Godiva Band, and filled with eggnog and Christmas cheer, UBC Engineers will be caroling all around campus on the last day of classes.  Students are highly recommended to wear their Reds (or at least a Red coloured jacket).

Students will be gathering at the Cheeze from 7-8am, and 8-12pm all around campus.

Engineers are taking over Dentry’s for the night!  With cheap drinks and some awesome tunes, make sure to wear your best 70′s outfit and come out!

This party is also here to celebrate the awesomeness that is Movember!  There will be a mustache contest and a prize for the most money raised, cool Movember swag up for raffle, and a 50/50 draw!

How mo’ can you go? We’re currently halfway though our Movember 2010 campaign and so far we’ve raised nearly $850! Super Excellent! But we gotta raise more if we’re gonna beat prostate cancer (And UBC-O….Bastages). There are a tonne of Movember related events coming up in the 2nd half of the Month. Ranging from a super classy Casino night, to 70′s night featuring a boat-racing rematch with Forestry. Stay tuned to this blog, and facebook for more info as the month progresses. Peace out!

The first ever EUS Multicultural Gala will be happening this Friday, from 12-2pm, in Kaiser 2020/2030. Early Bird Tickets go for $5 for 4 food tickets (taste 4 different food choices).  Limited Supply! Contact mg@ubcengineers.ca for tickets or to your departmental club!

This two part event is a cooking competition and a show!

THE COOKING COMPETITION

Clubs from all over Engineering will be participating in the competition.  Teams are as follows (with food choice in brackets):

EECE (East Asian), IGEN (Southeast Asian), CIVIL (Western European), ENVIRO (Eastern European),  First Years (Middle Eastern), GEO (Mediterranean), CHBE (Mexican), EWB (African), FIZZ (TBA).

Teams are evaluated both from official judges and students at large!  First prize is 250$, so make sure to vote for your favorite meal!

With great food, diverse performances and a chance to learn about cultures from across the world, the EUS Multicultural Gala is an event not to be missed!

The biggest and best Halloween event on campus, Halloween Ball is back with a vengeance!

Friday October 29th 7pm – 11pm!

Featuring THREE live bands, $2 hard bar, NO cover, door prizes, and the CHEAPEST drinks on campus (start saving your loonies), we’re getting ready to blow the doors off the Cheeze once again.

Come rock out for Halloween the way it should be done: cheap, crazy, with great tunes and even better people.
