AMS Elections 2012 Coming Up

Have your say on student services, tuition, housing and more! From Jan 23-27, vote in the AMS elections and referenda. For a complete list of candidates and referenda questions, visit the AMS Elections page.

To meet the candidates and learn more about the issues, come on out to the elections events and debates.

First year elections are this Friday in Kaiser Atrium (8AM-5PM)! Vote for your favorite candidate, and help make this year’s PP Council the best yet. Make sure to bring student ID with you.

See what PP Council does

Voting for the EUS Elections opens tomorrow, March 14 at 9:00 am and ends on Friday, March 18th at 4:00 pm, and the candidates hope you will vote and support your engineering government.  It is very easy to vote, all you have to do is login to your UBC SSC account, highlight the “Grades and Records” tab and click Webvote!

If you are interested in learning more about the candidates, there will be a second EUS Candidates Forum  happening this Tuesday at 1pm, at the Cheeze.  The VP Finance, VP Communications and Administration and VP Events candidates will be giving their speeches and taking questions during this time.  Come out, ask questions and get informed!

The EUS is now accepting nomination forms for the following 2010-2011 Executive positions:  VP Communications & Administration; VP Finance; VP Academic; VP External; VP Events; and President. The positions of AMS Representative(s) and Applied Science Student Senator are also available.

To learn more about each position, the rules and regulations of the elections, and how to get yourself nominated, check out the EUS Elections Webpage

You can also submit an application to be a part of the Elections Committee, where three students at large are tasked with ensuring a fair and well run elections.  For details on the position as well as how to apply, please download the EUS 2011 Elections Committee Application Form.

Elections for the Alma Mater Society, your student government,  Senate, and Board of Governors are taking place this week and we encourage everyone to vote as these students will represent you for the next year! There are two engineering students running; Sean Heisler for Board of Governors, and Eric Distefano for Senate.   We encourage everyone to investigate all the possible candidates and vote for those whom they believe are most suitable for each position.

Voting period ends on January 21st, at 4pm.

The results are in for the 2010 PP Council Elections!  Click here to find out who you’re new first year council is!

The PP (first year) Council is the student government of first year engineers, with the PP Council President sitting on the EUS Board of Directors. The PP council is given a budget, some advice and guidance from the EUS President, and access to tons of support, and then they are let loose! From paintballing to poker parties, any event that the council comes up with and is willing to organize can be done. The council also sees to the Academic and Professional concerns of first years. Being part of council is a great way to get involved without a ton of time committed, meet a large number of first years, and develop your leadership skills.
