The ‘Red’ is a UBC Engineer jacket or cardigan. The tradition of wearing one goes back to when many students on campus wore their Faculty colors to show pride in what they do. These days Science has been sporting newly designed blue jackets. Patches are often sewn on the Red to show recognition for great accomplishments (sports, charity, involvement, etc.), personal affiliations, following of a band or sports team, or just for decoration.

We sell these reds for cheap to first year students during the part of the year. They’re sold through Red Sales in the Cheeze, where you can also buy many other sorts of engineering goods.
