Frequently Asked Questions
QWill university be really hard?
Only if you don't go to any Frosh Week events!
QAre these events only for first year students?
No, these are for any and all year-level students, but are targeted towards first year Engineering students.
QDo I need to pay/register to come to Frosh Week?
The only event you need to sign up for is Frosh Retreat, which costs $85 and can be done on the Retreat page. All other Frosh events are free and open to everyone!
QHow can I buy a Red?
Reds and all Engineering paraphernalia are sold at Red Sales in the Cheeze. Check the Red Sales door for hours, and stay tuned for a new E-Store!
QHow can I get involved?
There are several opportunities available within the EUS - including the PP Council entirely made of first years, as well as a few open ex-officio positions. For a full list of opportunities, talk to a friendly EUS exec!
QHow crazy is Frosh Retreat?
If the craziness of Frosh Retreat was put into a just born kitten, it would spontaneously turn into a thousand hungry lions. Of course, they'd be very fun lions.
QWho has ALL the answers, and where can I ask my questions?
QWhat is tanking?
Tanking is an optional, fun engineering tradition where the Tankee is tossed into a pool of water by his/her friends after a series of joke charges are read. It's both a spirited spectacle and a way to show playful banter between fellow engineers. After the tanking has been initiated you have 24 h to prepare for this age-old ceremony! Doesn't sound like fun to you? Don't worry, nobody gets tanked if they don't want to be! Forced tankings are not cool and not tolerated.
QHow can I find help with my courses?
The EUS offers tutoring for first year courses. Check in with the VP Academic for courses and times.
