Tom Curran
Hi,
I’m Tom Curran. I am currently a first year student, and have not decided quite yet which program I will be entering next year. Since the end of October, I have served as the Assistant to the VP Academic of the EUS. This experience and my time at various engineering conferences over the course of the year have made me very interested in the position of VP Academic.
I have seen the good work that the EUS does to help engineering students through their time at UBC: tutoring and review sessions, advocacy for students, with concerns being heard at the two Beef and Pizza events held this year, and work with the co-op office to ensure that students are able to make the most of their time at UBC. I, along with Emma, hope to continue the strong tradition that Amanda and Lin established as VP Academic by increasing communication between faculty and students, improving engineering study spaces, ensuring that students’ concerns are heard, and continuing to improve upon our tutoring and review session offerings.
